Steve Lloyd talks at MIPCube

Steve Lloyd, Director of Systems Innovation at SphereVision presented at MIPCube and discussed the uses of 360 Video in Media as part of a series of Talks entitled “Storytelling in the 3rd Dimension”

Steve outlined key applications for SphereVision technology, its position in programme making, its ease of use on location and the fact that the end result is both interactive and engaging for the viewer.  He demonstrated the use of 360 video in Web applications such as the Party Poker promotion and game study, in synchronised second screen Apps for mobile devices that included Channel 5’s The Gadget Show where users could look around the Studio using the accelerometer & gyro functions of their iPad.  He also went on to show how HD Linear content can be extracted from 360 imagery both in tracking fast moving objects and not missing any of the action in News coverage. He also pointed out the benefit of engaging audiences with 360 live streaming coverage from events and concerts and behind the scene tours for programme promotion.
