New 360 POI on the Map at Intergeo 2014

1 October 2013

Spherevision releases its latest 360° Video Mapping tools at Intergeo Essen 8th to 10th October. Intergeo is the world’s leading conference & trade fair for geodesy, geoinfo and land management and SphereVision’s latest VideoMap 360 and RouteView 360 software solutions add a new dimension to surveying, construction and site monitoring. Clients can now explore a complete view of a site, remotely by web or on a mobile devices. Architects and construction teams can explore factory locations and building sites in minute detail, from wherever they are. They can click on hotspots and links to open up additional information and rich media to gain an in depth awareness of the current on-site situation.

360 video systems can record a real-world environment in all directions at the same time, capturing every aspect of the scene. When 360 video is viewed on a laptop, mobile device or over the Internet – viewers can pan around the image, moving through and exploring a location as if they were there. Footage can be integrated with floor and site plans and the high-resolution 360 imagery can also be integrated with online mapping.

Leading recycling and waste management company Veolia Environmental Services uses a SphereVision 360 degree video system to monitor its waste management operations around Central London. “We already used a good GPS system and wanted to add video monitoring that would integrate with that and give us the functionality and flexibility to monitor, map and analyse issues in real time,” says Adam Pringle, Veolia’s operational performance analyst.

Intergeo presents an ideal opportunity for visitors to see active demonstrations of Spherevision’s advanced VideoMap360 and RouteView 360 software solutions.

Other points of interest at the show will be the launch of Pointfuse, a game changing software solution that rapidly (in minutes) converts terrestrial or mobile collected Point Cloud Data into a 3D vector model.
